Isaac Ray Treatment Center

The Isaac Ray Treatment Center (IRTC) was Indiana’s first building to become LEED Silver certified, and the first government sector healthcare facility in the U.S. to receive this certification. As one of the most recent additions to the long-standing Logansport State Hospital, IRTC focuses on high-risk patients as the first mental health facility of its kind to specialize in therapeutic healing. Its approximately 20 acre site addresses the safety and security of patients, staff and visitors while encouraging healing through recreation in its carefully designed outdoor environment.

King+King Headquarters

Having outgrown their existing office, King+King Architects chose to return to Syracuse, NY, where the firm originated in 1868. After hearing about the Near West-Side Initiative, King+King joined the movement to restore the downtown Syracuse community to its former glory as a business and social hub. An expanded 1913 farm equipment assembly plant and furniture warehouse in a marginalized neighborhood was chosen for renovation.

Mount Pleasant Net Zero Energy Demonstration Home

Founded in 1990, the Tri-County Housing Development Corporation arose out of a need for affordable housing and redevelopment for moderate to low income residents of South Central Pennsylvania. The nonprofit organization embarked on a project in 2007 to transform abandoned and blighted South Allison Hill area properties into high quality, affordable homes.

To accommodate a growing community and increasing student body, the Nazareth Area School District set out to develop a new middle school through a decidedly holistic integrative approach. Chosen for optimum community impact, the new facility’s location creates a “campus” relationship with the existing adjacent high school allowing convenient community access to both schools’ resources and reduces bus traffic.

Neptune Township Midtown Community School

This centrally located, community-based, high performance K-5 school enhances and embodies curriculum as a “living textbook” for its 550 students and the community. A number of unique outdoor elements such as a rooftop science lab and an amphitheater invite learning, and community-oriented features include a parenting and tutoring center, intergenerational tutoring services and an adjacent renovated warehouse serving as an early childhood center.

Neptune Township Summerfield Elementary School

As the first LEED Gold certified public school in New Jersey, Summerfield Elementary takes a hands on approach to teaching and fostering an understanding of sustainable practices with students and the community. With an emphasis on Live Event Learning and indoor/outdoor connections with the classroom, Summerfield utilizes the surrounding property’s 22 acres of wetlands, streams and nature trails as part of the curriculum.

In line with its mission to protect Pennsylvania’s air, land and water from pollution and to provide for the health and safety of its citizens through a cleaner environment, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) engaged 7group to provide high performance integrative design and commissioning services, as well as LEED consulting and documentation, for the design and construction of this extremely economical office building located in California, Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Cambria Office Building

As the first LEED-NC v2.0 Gold project certified in the United States, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA DEP) Cambria office building has won numerous awards since its completion, including selection as one of 5 U.S. buildings to participate in the 2000 Green Building Challenge in Maastricht, The Netherlands, one of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Buildings for the 21st Century, and one of the AIA’s TOP Ten Green Buildings nationally in 2000.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (PA DEP) Philipsburg office building is home to the Moshannon District Headquarters. In line with several other PA DEP office buildings, design of the Philipsburg office space prioritized energy and water efficiency, a high quality indoor air environment and the use of sustainable building materials for a total cost comparative to that of a conventional office building.

Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, Southeast Regional Office Building

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s (PA DEP) Southeast Regional Office Building (SROB) in downtown Norristown was intended by PA DEP to be Pennsylvania’s “Greenest Building”. In line with the building’s conception, it received the Environmental Design and Construction Excellence in Design Award Grand Prize in 2005 for government buildings.
