Proximity Hotel

Setting a precedent as the first hotel in the U.S. to achieve LEED Platinum certification, the AAA Four Diamond rated Proximity Hotel and adjacent restaurant, Print Works Bistro, are committed to upholding sustainable practices without sacrificing the comfort of their guests. While sustainability was not initially a project goal, the CEO and Chief Design Officer Dennis Quaintance found making design decisions for long-term value and practicality led the project team toward a decidedly sustainable approach.

Rieth Village at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center

Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center is a visionary nature preserve owned by Goshen College through gifts from individuals in co-operation with the Nature Conservancy. Serving as a beacon for other wildlife sanctuaries, Merry Lea’s mission is to provide public environmental education, support private field-based habitat studies, and to remain sensitive in every respect to Indiana’s undisturbed ecosystems.

Select Medical Health Education Pavilion

This new classroom and laboratory building located on Harrisburg Area Community College’s main campus is Pennsylvania’s first LEED certified community college facility. With an explicit target to integrate the physical environment with the learning environment and the community, the project utilized 7group’s integrative design process. Students and faculty at the new Pavilion pursue education and careers in health, nursing, nutrition and physical education while working in a sustainable and comfortable environment.

Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems Headquarters Building

The Syracuse Center of Excellence (CoE) in Environmental and Energy Systems engages collaborators from over 200 institutions to address worldwide challenges in clean and renewable energy, indoor environmental quality (IEQ), and water resources. CoE members conduct targeted research, exhibit new technologies, commercialize innovations and provide education.

The Davies Facility

As one of the first Consumer Package Goods facilities to take a holistic approach to developing a manufacturing facility and distribution center, the Davies Facility in York, PA continues Church & Dwight’s sustainable legacy earning LEED Silver certification in December 2009. The project team for this new facility focused on upholding sustainable practices while considering workplace conditions for the anticipated 300 employees.

The Willow School Campus

“Excellence, Education, Ethics, and Ecology”, is the Willow School’s mantra. A small, independent coeducational day school for students in kindergarten through eighth grade, The Willow School is committed to combining academic excellence and the joy of learning with experiencing the wonder of the natural world. Its campus is nestled on a 34-acre wooded site in rural New Jersey countryside, and the building and its surroundings are an integral feature in school’s curriculum.

The Winston Preparatory School New Classroom Building and Master Plan

The Winston Preparatory School’s Norwalk campus consists of 13.2 acres and seven existing buildings. 7group in collaboration with other Alliance for Regeneration members engaged Winston students, faculty, staff and the community in a highly interactive master planning process focused on regenerative design and development practices to create a campus Master Plan.

West Chester University School of Music and Performing Arts Center

The School of Music and Performing Arts Center (SOMPAC) at West Chester University was designed and constructed as a larger and more sustainable performance center replacing the 1950s era Swope Hall. 7group served as the LEED, energy, and daylighting design consultant for this new performing arts and academic building, which attained LEED Silver certification in July 2010.

Yestermorrow Design/Build School Campus

Originally founded in 1980, the Yestermorrow Design/Build School is devoted to hands-on education integrating design and building principles with a core understanding of sustainable and regenerative practices. The school operated using rented space in Vermont’s Mad River Valley until 1990 when the dilapidated Alpen Inn property in Waitsfield was purchased.
